VERNON FORREST 38 years old and former boxing champion was shot in an attempted carjacking in Northwest Atlanta Saturday night. Vernon was at the gas station putting air in the tires of his Jaguar around 11 pm. Two men tried to steal his car and jumped out. He had gun in his car and ran after the suspects. Exchange shooting between Vernon and suspects. He was shot several times by semi-automatic weapons. The family members from Texas is going to pick him up. The case is currently under investigation .
